Barry Tech equestrians take top sots at NSEC FFA Horse Show

Students from the Barry Tech Horse Science and Management program gave exceptional performances at this year’s Future Farmers of America Horse Show, hosted by the North Shore Equestrian Center and Long Island University. Students from the Barry Tech Horse Science program dominated several classes of competition.

Jericho UFSD student Amanda Petrillo took first place in both Walk/Trot (Spotter) and Walk/Two Point/Question (Spotter). Emma Bronnekant, a JFK High School student in Plainview-Old Bethpage, took first place in Walk/Trot/Canter. Daniella Rath of the Bellmore-Merrick CHSD took first place in Walk/Trot/Two Point (No Diagonals) and third place in Walk/Trot (No Diagonals). James Schaefer, from the Lowell School in Seaford, took first place in Walk/Trot (No Diagonals) and fourth place in Walk/Trot/Canter (One at a Time).

East Meadow UFSD student Riley Foster took second place in Walk/Trot/Canter (One at a Time) and third place in Walk/Trot/Two Point (No Diagonals). Samantha Mogilski from East Meadow High School took second place in Walk/Trot/Two Point (No Diagonals) and fourth place in Walk/Trot (No Diagonals). Jenna Schiano from Oceanside High School took third place in both Over Fences and Walk/Trot/Canter. Manhasset High School student Lucy Endicott took third place in Walk/Trot/Canter (One at a Time), and fourth place in both Over Fences and Walk/Trot/Canter.
